Limon, Costa Rica - Feb 6, 2014

We booked a local tour (Greenway Tour) to take us to visit east side of Costa Rica (near Limon area).  We did the usual activities when visiting Costa Rica such as Rain Forest hiking, Canopy Zip Lines, and touring Tortuguero Canal. Costa Rica has lots of rain forests, the one we visited is a private owned facility called Banco Nacional.  We saw a lot of tropical vegetation, however not enough animals.

The Zip Line is a 12 lines systems.  It was everyone’s 1st time experience.  It did not take long at all for us to feel comfortable on the line zipping down over the canopy of rain forest. The view and experience were just wonderful.  The only thing was we all wished the lines can be a little longer.

The Tortuguero Canal boat ride was less eventful.  The only animals we spotted were birds, monkeys and sloths.  We did not spot any cayman.

Overall, we had a wonderful excursion. Our guide is Panel who is a very nice and polite young man.  He even rode the zip lines with us.  After the tour, he drove us around the Limon city for some simple "on the van" sightseeing.  He told us that every Costa Rica city has a church, soccer field and bars just like Limon. BTW, there is no tour attraction in Limon and Limon is pretty run down and looks like dangerous city to walking around. In the cruise ship terminal, there is a shopping market where we found more coffee and even coco beans.
